Welcome Friends of Little Hands,
March has come in like a lion in Honduras as most of the rain has now past and the new political leadership is settling in for the country. Our workers are hard at work and the children we serve are enjoying another year at the preschool. Our three teachers (Roxana, Norbentina, and Erika) are again joined by an outstanding volunteer, Delia. Their love for these children is evident in every smile and every hug. We urge you to keep these teachers and children in your prayers as they “learn together”.

This month will also bring our first mission team of the year to Trujillo. We (Mark and Brenda) will be going to Honduras on March 16 to play host to the 19-member mission team from the Southwest Church in Tigard, OR. This will be the 5th year that Wendy Goodyear and Jeff Grow as youth leaders have brought a large group of high school juniors and seniors to work and serve at the Little Hands mission. We look forward to their presence as they serve to encourage our workers and enlighten our children with their love for Jesus. This group will work with the Trujillo teens on a community project, assist with a water project, replace an old roof with a nice new tin roof for a Little Hands family, and teach the children’s Bible Hour classes. Please keep each of these young people in your prayers as they seek to “be the hands and feet of Jesus” in Honduras.

We also ask for your prayers as we begin a new effort to train two Honduran nurses to serve at the LHBH Health Center which we hope to open later this year. We will meet our first nurse, Blanca Rodriguez and her mother, Chayo, in Roatan on March 17 to get her settled with a local family so she can begin her 6-month nurses training at Clinica Esperanza (www.clinicaesperanza.com). While working there she will be taught the appropriate protocols to follow when treating the most common illnesses and health problems in Honduras. Once she completes her six months training she will return to Trujillo to initiate the LHBH Health Center. Another nurse will follow her to Roatan for six months of training into 2015. Pray for our funding for this project as well as Blanca as she begins her training.

Lastly, for those who have followed the recent surgeries of Isabel and Gustavo, you know how expensive these surgeries are but how life-changing they can be to these little ones. We draw on funds from the Children’s Medical Fund for these costly operations. At the present time, we are desperately in need of donations to replenish this Fund so that money can be available to help other children when the need arises. If you wish to help, send your tax deductible contribution to the LHBH Foundation, 4001 Summitview Avenue, #5-153, Yakima, WA 98908. Thanks for any help you can provide.

We are grateful to the Lord for His continued guidance and care. May the Lord bless and keep you in His care. In His love, Mark and Brenda Young
